Urban Crime Safety Project

Are you Deaf, aged 14–30 and living in Yorkshire? Wanna learn how to stay safe, confident and clued-up in a fun and Deaf-friendly way?

Urban Crime Safety Project (UCSP)

  • Come join our Urban Crime Safety Project!
We meet up to do interactive workshops like escape rooms, quizzes, and hands-on safety sessions—all in BSL. We’ve teamed up with the police, SignHealth and Streetwise Self Defence to make sure it’s not just fun, but useful too. We’re even helping design a bespoke Deaf-friendly self-defence course, so it’s made with us, for us.
It’s all about building confidence, learning your rights, knowing what to do in emergencies—and just having a laugh with other Deaf young people across Yorkshire.
IT’S ALL FREE (we might ask for a small donation for some events if it’s pricey)
Need help with travel? We’ve got you.
Whether you’re looking to learn something new, feel safer, or just get involved—this is your space.
