Hello! My name is Claire and I’ve worked for DEX since September 2020. I was born with progressive severe-profound deafness. I work part time hours. I manage DEX’s projects which includes applying for grants, being responsible for HR, budgets and finances, writing reports and attending meetings. In my spare time, I love walking in the hills with my family and dog!
Zara Emery
Youth Work Coordinator
Hello! My name is Zara and I’ve worked for DEX since 2019. I work part time hours. I use BSL. I support young members who need help to fill out forms and to signpost them to other agencies. I also run our events for deaf young people to encourage them to socialise and have fun! I enjoy going to different places and trying out new food!
Helen Brook
Operations Coordinator
Hello! My name is Helen and I’ve worked for DEX since December 2020. I work part time hours. I create events posters, manage the social media pages and help to promote our groups to deaf young people and professionals. I also do advocacy work. I have two young sons and a little dog who keep me very busy!
Louise Thomas
Involvement Coordinator
Hello! My name is Louise (Lou for short). I’ve worked for DEX since September 2023. I work part-time. I work closely with Zara to plan DEX activities to engage deaf young people and support them to get involved within the deaf community. I also manage our volunteers’ programme. In my spare time I love walking/hiking, reading and travelling.
