The United Nation (UN) was founded in 1945 for peace in the world. UN has a special agency- Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) so that peace can be achieved by educating and sharing information. UNESCO launched its International Decade of Indigenous Languages at their headquarters in Paris on 13 December 2022. DEX was invited and Jill Jones (Chair of the DEX Board) went to meet the key people there who will action the Plan, which will apply the UN’s Declarations on human rights to all minority native language users – speakers and signers. There were representatives from all the world – north and south America, Africa, Australasia, Asia and Europe.
