The Equality and Human Rights Commission has made a video for schools about how to deal with bullying.

We suggest you use this in schools where deaf children are being bullied.

However, where BSL is the first language there needs to be a specialist procedure where the deaf child or young person can report in BSL via a CSW to the Contact Person, or via an independent interpreter if the child prefers confidentiality.

Deaf children should be taught the school’s Bullying Policy.
